Closing Gates on Footpaths

Can residents please be reminded of the importance of closing gates when using the footpaths around the village. There was a very unfortunate incident yesterday (24 Sept 2019) at Smiths Farm when a gate was left open by walkers and seven cows escaped. The cows were left with cuts and bruises because in their fear, they ran along the main road and smashed through another farmers hedge before they were finally recaptured. Please spread this message to others so we can try and ensure this does not happen again.
