I moved to Bloxham in 1973, working in Banbury. Our boys went to playschool and then the Primary and Warriner. My wife was a Midwife at Chipping Norton and the Hornton. My job took us to West Sussex which we didn’t like so we took the first opportunity to move back and have lived locally ever since, returning to Bloxham proper in 2014. Before retirement I was Technical Manager for a specialist manufacturing company which took me all over Europe and worked on various international and national standards bodies. I saw retirement as an opportunity to increase my time in voluntary work. I was for a time a speaker for Helen and Douglas Children’s Hospice and an interviewer for Citizens Advice. I see the Parish Council as looking out for the village, as a channel for communicating the needs and wishes of the community to larger bodies and looking after the village things which you tend to take for granted - until they are not there or broken.
